Initial Training for Capacity Building in Hyperspectral Remote Sensing at DLR – Oberpfaffenhofen

This week (September), participants gathered at DLR (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt) – Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany for an intensive capacity-building training in Hyperspectral Remote Sensing, blending theory, hands-on fieldwork, and technical sessions to enhance skills in data acquisition, processing, and analysis together with the project partners from ASI (Italian Space Agency) .

Training Highlights

Introduction to Hyperspectral Remote Sensing, covering applications, dimensionality reduction, and field measurement techniques.
▪ Advanced topics like HS Classification, Spectral Unmixing, and the DESIS & EnMAP satellite missions.
Hands-on field measurements to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world conditions.
▪ Data processing with Python Notebooks, Calibration Laboratory, and Data Visualization.
Site visits and project meetings exploring airborne campaigns and operational applications.

This training was made possible through the collaboration of DLR, ASI, and leading experts in remote sensing.

🔥 A big thank you to all organizers, trainers, and participants for making this program a success! Looking forward to seeing the impact of this knowledge in future projects. 🌍🚀
