Training and coordination meeting within the EXPERT Twinning Project – Reaching Excellence in Hyperspectral Remote Sensing

This week in Bucharest, a training and coordination meeting took place within the European project EXPERT – Reaching Excellence in Hyperspectral Remote Sensing, funded under the Horizon Europe programme.

The project brings together three partners – the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), the Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (ASI), and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) – with the shared goal of strengthening Romania’s expertise in hyperspectral remote sensing and research management.

The meeting focused primarily on strategic and managerial topics, supporting ROSA in further developing its capacity to plan and implement European research and innovation projects. The discussions also addressed coordination and reporting mechanisms within the EXPERT project, ensuring effective collaboration and knowledge exchange between partners.

Specialists from ASI travelled to Bucharest to deliver dedicated training sessions, sharing their experience and best practices in managing complex international projects. Their professionalism, openness, and collaborative approach made this training a particularly valuable experience for the ROSA team.

With the support of DLR, these activities contribute directly to the broader objectives of EXPERT, helping to strengthen ROSA’s institutional capabilities and reinforce cooperation between European partners in space research and innovation.

The EXPERT project focuses on building ROSA’s excellence in hyperspectral remote sensing through extensive training and knowledge transfer provided by ASI experts. The initiative paves the way for stronger scientific collaboration, increased research capacity, and closer integration of Romania within the European space research ecosystem.
