Organised within the Horizon Europe EXPERT project by the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), together with the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the Autumn School will take place in Sinaia, Romania, from 12β16 October 2026.
This intensive training programme offers a unique opportunity for young researchers, PhD students and Earth Observation professionals to deepen their knowledge of hyperspectral remote sensing through a combination of lectures, practical exercises, mentoring and team-based activities.
Participants will explore topics including:
πΉ Fundamentals of imaging spectroscopy
πΉ Hyperspectral applications for agriculture, water quality and mining
πΉ Accessing and working with PRISMA and EnMAP satellite data
πΉ Dimensionality reduction and spectral unmixing techniques
πΉ Image co-registration using HyperCoreg tools
πΉ In situ spectroscopic measurements and validation methodologies
πΉ Field campaign design and data preparation workflows
πΉ Science communication for Earth Observation projects
The programme also includes hands-on sessions with SVC spectrometers, expert mentoring from leading specialists in the field, collaborative team challenges, and networking opportunities with the European hyperspectral remote sensing community.
